Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise

An important win this session was the passage of SB20-215 Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise. This fee on insurance carriers–which is the continuation of a fee they already pay federally–will be used to fund Colorado’s successful reinsurance program, as well as make insurance more affordable for individual-market consumers and those left out of the Affordable Care Act, including immigrants without documentation. It does all of this without any cost to the state budget.
